SPHS senior Sutton Enge has been named a Finalist in the 71st Annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Sutton initially entered the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Test (PSAT/NMSQT) in 2023. Sutton is the son of Karmin and Greg Enge.
“Sutton is an exemplary student, who is dedicated, hard-working and focused, and we are fortunate at SPHS to have played a small role in his success. We look forward to what the future has in store for Sutton," Sauk Prairie High School principal Chad Harnisch said.
About 1.4 million juniors at more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. The number of Semifinalists in a state is proportional to that state’s percentage of the national total of graduating seniors.
Annually, 16,000 students are identified as semifinalists and 15,000 of those students become finalists. That is the top 1% of students nationwide. Over the coming months, the scholarships will be awarded to approximately 7,000 of those finalists.
Congratulations on this honor, Sutton!
